During WWII I remember go...So very true, and sad. <br />During WWII I remember going to Balboa Park with my parents for a Sunday family picnic. I was only about 4 at the time but I have such memories of all the young service men without their families. We would always invite a few to picnic with us. It seemed that there were always families welcoming these young homesick boys to eat with them, spend some time talking to and listening to them. I am sure it meant a lot to them.
