Award, Promotion, and Raise Me Up

Each quarter the company recognizes top performers for Employee of the Month, Team Player Award, Service Awards, etc. I was chosen for this month's Team Player Award.

Here's what my boss had to say in her nomination:

"Paula is a motivated member of the POI team. I occasionally have to pull her off her current workload in order to have her work on sudden, more time-sensitive projects. She always accepts these new projects with a smile, is a quick learner on what needs to be done, and then - without fail - completes these projects by their deadlines. She brings a positive, happy energy to the team, motivating the team to do the same. Her professionalism and demeanor make her a positive role model for her peers. She is dedicated to her work and the team; her enthusiasm is contagious. I can always rely on Paula and I appreciate all she does for the team."

In addition, my department is undergoing restructuring (expansion!) and will be growing by 5 people. The group will be broken into two groups - The first group, a compilaton group, will go to company websites and get location information there to add to the database. The 2nd group -the auditing group- will consist of a quality assurance person, 2 proactive research analysts (myself and another person) and two auditors. This groups role will be to monitor business openings, closings, mergers, business trends, economic roles, etc and keep on top on things that affect our data. Since our work is very high profile and used by online search engines and GPS systems, it is imperative that it be correct at all times.

I will be in charge of the auditing group which means a nice promotion and financial compensation for such.
