I Am Enough

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others." ~ Marianne Williamson

Thoughts on Change, Education and Life in General

Good morning friends,

Well, the inauguration is over and a new era in our country's history is beginning. As I was watching the first African-American president take the oath, I was so moved that tears began falling. Yes, I am a sap but I was thinking "If ever there was a doubt that in AMERICA a person can come from any background, race, religion, etc and become something great, there is the proof." How incredibly inspiring that is. Whether you voted for him or not, that is one thing you should take from it. I hope that this man does great things.

Well, midterms are over and I survived but not without several moments of "give me the icepick so I can drive it through my forehead" and "I don't care anymore. It is good enough." I don't know when I've been so frustrated with a class as I have been with this Word for the Law Office class. I prefer doing my algebra to the WORD class and that's saying alot.

I went thrift store shopping a couple of weeks ago and found the piece in the picture above. What beautiful work and it was in the Goodwill! I had to rescue it~~~I don't yet know how to do filet work but I so admire it. Isn't it a beautiful iris?

I'm working on a scarf right now of my own design and if I realllllyyyyy like the end result, I will post the pattern here. Keep looking for updates.

Well, I have to get moving. What will you do today that will bring you closer to God and give you peace?

  1. Good morning Paulissa,
I was also moved watching the inauguration. It is so good to see people eager for change and so many hopes. Our new President brings us fresh prospective. He is certainly going into office facing a mountain of problems to try and fix. I hope he will have all the support he needs.

Well I am sure you must be happy to have midterms over.

Don't you love going to thrift stores? I love to go to antique stores and find little inexpensive things to buy. Lots of little knick knacks, cups, a spoon, old doilys. I love your find with the Iris.

Today I am going to dig some more in my yard to plant annuals. I bought so many seeds the other day and shared them with my grandaughter. Other than my digging I am going to take it easy and just do the normal housework, cook dinner and laundry which I seem to have every day.

I am looking forward to seeing your next crocheted creation. You do beautiful work.

Oh yes, today to bring a little peace in my life and feel close to God I will play my new CD which I actually bought at Joann's. It is Classical Guitar Elegance. It has some really pretty pieces.

  2. Hello Iris,

Yep I'm glad to have the WORD midterms over; now I'm just waiting for grades to come back. I should have a high 'B' factoring in the 83% I got on one of the tests. . .The algebra midterm is tomorrow. . .

How I wish it were warm enough here to plant; that would be wonderful!!

The pattern I'm designing is a scarf, though it could be modified to make an afghan or a shawl even. I am really pleased with how it's working up.

Yep I love thrift store shopping because you never know what you'll find.

Well, it is very late and I have a test tomorrow so I'm going to hit the sack.

Thanks for leaving comments on the blog. It makes blogging so much more fun.
