I Am Enough

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others." ~ Marianne Williamson

New Adjustable Ears!!

I've been enjoying the last few days of freedom before classes begin again on Monday. I can tell how much the stress of last quarter got to me because all I really want to do is sleep!!!

Well I plunked down $2800 for hearing aids on Thursday. I got the new open ear - these have multi-directional microphones, are waterproof, programmable to my hearing loss, etc. Hopefully they will help me hear better in a classroom setting. So far, though I don't like the way they make music sound; I can't get over the tinny sound. I have them for a month and then go back in for custom settings and we'll be talking about the music settings. As a singer, public speaker, and musician, how the music and my voice sound is important because the way it feeds back to me affects the way I perform.

Today my friend Jackye and I are going to a craft fair where hopefully I can get a few birthday and Christmas gifts. My plan is to be more prepared this year than last, including a Christmas fund with ING, making and buying gifts throughout the year, etc. This afternoon I will spend some time with my knit/crochet guild.

What are you all up to today?

  1. Wonderful! I keep thinking I need hearing aids, but it is mostly in crowds. I think I just get to nervous.

    Enjoy the craft fair.

  2. I first noticed my loss when I was in crowds; hearing loss runs in my family and I'm sure that my years of playing music haven't helped either.
